@earthsignalofficial: October 25, 2026 | Japan & East China Sea Champi, which peaked near 186 mph as a super typhoon earlier this week, is now approaching Japan in a much weaker state. Japan's weather agency says it could approach the Kyushu region on Monday before turning into an extratropical cyclone and moving toward waters off western Shikoku. Over open water on Saturday, it had winds around 63 mph, down from its peak. Heavy rain is the main concern. Iriomote Island in Okinawa recorded 567 mm (22 inches) in 48 hours, a local record, and Owase in Mie Prefecture had 329 mm in 24 hours. Forecasters say a lingering weather front across Japan is adding to the rain risk. The agency urges caution, and no major damage in Japan has been reported so far. #TyphoonChampi #Japan #Kyushu #Typhoon #EarthSignal
