I love this and have learned so much from you about how to expand my journaling habit. Thank you for that! This may be too basic to be worthy of an answer, but I'm curious if you have research tips on how to avoid AI Mode and what search engine you use? I used to be very good at online research but it seems progressively more challenging.

You inspired me to commonplace a few months ago. I did a page on the invention/origin of the Chinese takeout box. Fascinating how much you can learn about random fun things

i have recently gone to watch whalefall and it prompted me to research whale falls as a topic, so i'm currently in a rabbit hole of sea-related researches (the biological carbon pump, the benthic zone, marine snow) which is very funny considering i'm thalassophobic lmao

I keep meaning to get started. I want my first entry to be about gorse, which is exotic to an American like me.

What printer do you use to print out stickers (or are they colour photos with glue)? I think my journal needs this 👀

You inspired me to start commonplacing! I haven’t done many entries so far, just on poet Andrea Gibson and the HMS Mars, a decommissioned naval ship used as a boys’ home in Dundee in the 1800s

My favourite thing about common placing is the way you can go down all sorts of twisty, windy rabbit holes. My favourites so far range from polar stratospheric clouds to my current research on the Mabinogion welsh folklore

If you’ve ever seen the film Fairytale: A True Story about the Cottingley Fairies hoax (or was it) Arthur Conan-Doyle was a vocal advocate for the the existence of the fairies and shared a number of letters with Houdini about supernatural phenomena x
