One of my friends on here is a “homeless not helpless” creator and she gets such terrible people in her comments for being homeless or not fitting their idea of what homelessness should look like.

i think about this all the time and i genuinely start ugly sobbing, truly. as someone who was close to homelessness the lack of empathy is soul crushing i can't even imagine how the unhoused feel

Yes, homeless individuals are very much abused by society. Also a waste majority of homeless people are mentally ill, usually severe PTSD from serving their country or by having schizophrenia, bipolor, antisocial, ect. All of these disorders are also demonized and labeled as uncontrollable and violent. And yet, our country still does not value mental health.
