@moneymeetsmedicine: How hospitals get free work from doctors 🕒 One study of family physicians found they spent 5.9 hours of an 11.4-hour workday in the EHR, including 1.4 hours after clinic closed. That after-hours charting has a nickname: pajama time. Add uncompensated call, committee “citizenship,” and the portal inbox, and the hourly rate on your contract is not the hourly rate you are living. All of it is negotiable: call pay, admin time, inbox time, what counts toward productivity. But only before you sign, and only if you know to ask. Follow Money Meets Medicine to learn the personal finance and contract topics you wish you had learned in med school. #physiciancontracts #pajamatime #physicianburnout #doctorlife #moneymeetsmedicine

This is exactly what’s wrong with medicine. My bonus depends on me cutting everything so it stays big. That is the hierarchy of medicine as it stands now in the United States proper

Yeah but most surgeons aren’t employed by hospitals. We’re self employed. The hospitals pay me $00.00.

The ACA lined everything up to destroy healthcare. Insurance Payors and Hospital Administrators were given all the power to make medical decisions and abuse all the money

I think your mistaking. Doctors understand this very well. We do it because it is what’s expected and technically the standard.

if you find all the G-codes to add on to the visits, dot- phrase the conversation and add it to every chart applicable, then you make up for that "free time".

We were trained in paper charts and we only documented pertinent information not for bull shit. Hospitals and insurances do not want to pay no problem with the years we all developed other businesses to live from. No fair pay i stay home. The dictors shortage will soon start getting worst😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁

Interestingly, one of the most voracious law firms in the world who took down several of the banking companies for labor violations is going after a lot of of the hospitals and staffing companies, so let’s hope they go after these creeps who work in admin as well
