the "it's not natural" is factually wrong but it's also a great example of the appeal to nature fallacy because by the same logic, antibiotics, houses, clothing, and many other human made things would be wrong because they don't appear in nature with human intervention, it also implies that things like cancer and birth defects are good because they both occur naturally.

Your video gets at something people seem to misunderstand so good on you there, but it’s also worth noting that Dean slightly misunderstands what critics mean when they say that “homosexuality is unnatural”. They don’t mean that in the sense that it doesn’t appear in nature. They mean in the teleological sense that it doesn’t satisfy the, purported, “purpose”, or “end” of sex. Now of course that presupposes that there is such a thing in the first place, and you can also point out the myriad of natural teleology on its own, but this is just something to be aware of when you encounter that argument.

For anyone saying that it’s still unnatural because it’s “not what sex is meant for”, sex also serves as a good way to bond. Not the only way of course, but still a good one. As to homosexuality, while we don’t have a definitive answer, one idea as to why it’s beneficial is that it helps with others in the group, known as the “gay uncle” theory. Basically they’ll help provide and care for the children of the family without adding to the population too much, which could add strain to the amount of resources available. And also, something being unnatural doesn’t make it bad either.

It’s always been so silly to me, that people say it’s “not natural.” What determines whether something is natural or not? Human sexual desire is a natural human characteristic. That’s not subjective. We can all agree on that. So why would it be unnatural for a human to have the desire for the same sex?

the clear rebuttal is if being natural isn't the real goal post, then what specifically makes same sex attraction bad if it's not unnatural? it's easy to dismantle the arguments from there, because they usually either bring up procreation, god, or just say its icky to them
