My company recently went through a structuring and my position was eliminated but I was offered another position in the company that came with a 7% pay cut. I took it. This is not the time to be unemployed. Keeping a paycheck coming in is everything right now.

Nobody is deliberately staying, the illusion that it’s even up to us is gone. If we are employed we are lucky. Companies are laying off constantly and you might be lucky enough to be brought back as a W2 with no benefits. I speak from experience. There is no choice here, it is NOT up to us, pls stop spreading the illusion that it is. We are slaves to the corporations and billionaires. Period.

too risky to leave but too toxic to stay. freezer out of contributing to relevant problems so creating a bridge from where I am to where I wanna be purposefully.

This is my first job where I’ve stayed for more than a year. I used to be a job hopper and it definitely worked in my favor, but since Covid I have become a job hugger and every day I can say that I am so grateful to at least have this consistent paycheck. All I can do is pray to God that he blesses me in the best way possible. And if that requires me to stay at this job for a long time, then so be it.

I finally embraced AI in my role as a Business Analyst, but now I’m punching WAY above my weight and role. I’m leaving everyone in the dust including the Management teams two levels above me. Trying to find a higher role in my company is nearly impossible, but I know the job market is absolute crap right now!
