@soulfully.healing: My work was gone. My friends were gone. The life I once loved was gone. And I was still trying to save my marriage. Before him, I had a life I loved. Work that mattered to me. Friendships. Independence. A voice. Years later, I looked in the mirror and struggled to find that woman. I had spent so long explaining his behavior, questioning my reactions, and trying to keep the peace that I stopped asking: “What is happening to ME?” I thought loving harder might bring us closer. Instead, my world kept getting smaller. That is the part of my story I need people to understand this Domestic Violence Awareness Month: the isolation, the control, and the slow loss of who I was. Leaving meant grieving my marriage—and beginning to find myself again. If you recognize yourself in my story, you deserve to be heard. You deserve friendships, choices, safety, and a life where your voice matters. ❤️🩹 Follow us at Soulfully Healing as we rebuild, believe, and begin again. Share this with someone who needs to feel seen. What was the first part of yourself you began reclaiming? #domesticviolenceawareness #domesticabuseawareness #coercivecontrol #emotional #healing
