The 55p per a mile is for people that claim business mileage, for example a sales person using his/her own car to visit a client. Their hourly salary is still paid as per normal. I don’t UNDERSTAND why the HMRC pay per mile is used here as an example for a taxi or minicab driver as their main income and job??
