well they originally weren't even supposed to be tanned in general but however what they did to usopp was a crime

I miss tan Zoro with mint hair not pale with neon green. And usopp and robin being bleached to this degree is a genuine crime. The show just kept getting more saturated that it hurts to watch

It also doesn't make sense. The extent of light they made the characters they live on a ship.\n Likely out doing fishing or dealing with the sails or sitting, and making sure that nothing goes wrong on the deck, they would all have pretty good tans, they wouldn't be pale.

I’m gonna be so honest- the only two straw hats that I really feel like need their “melanin” back is Ussop and Zoro, I REALLY liked the orange shading on Zoro, and Ussop should be dark simply because Oda has stated that if Ussop had a real world race he WOULD be African. But everyone else is fine. O h also anyone wondering- I found this interesting but Brook is actually Austrian, I thought that was fun to find out

Chopper is the only one that might make sense, because now that he isnt in the snow his coat might lighten to handle the heat better.

in my opinion, if it wasn’t intentional, it was likely due to restrictions of what tv’s could project, or limits of colors they could use
