i usually agree with your takes but i think that you’re being a little biased bc you’ve been in both situations😭 if others are upset abt their friend ditching them for a guy, then i don’t think they’d be the types to completely revolve around a singular friend. i’m also not gonna be all giddy to someone who willingly ignores me to be with their man. i think you’re confusing just getting into a relationship and actually being a bad friend, because what you’re describing, such as the honeymoon phase, getting a bf etc isn’t what most friends are upset abt.

my ex friend and i had been friends for around 3 years but when we started high school things started to change. she began prioritizing her bf over everyone which was fine in the beginning but for a few weeks she left me alone during lunch when i didn’t have anyone else to sit with she would say she was only leaving for five minutes but she’d end up staying with him longeri eventually got tired of feeling like an afterthought and confronted her about it but she made it clear that she would choose her boyfriend over me and that i shouldnt expect a 50/50 friendship after that, I decided to end the friendship and block her because i didn’t want to keep fighting for a place in someone’s life
