lol I paid $150 from 13 yrs of age to 18. Then it raised to $250. I never got the money back. But I inherited the farm. I've had excellent credit since the age of 13. Thanks dad. ❤️

Even if he hadn't given it back thats a financial lesson every kid needs to know. The world isn't kind and its definitely not free. I told my son he is more than welcome to stay at home forever if he wants, BUT now that hes an adult he will have a job and contribite a little to living expenses and if he doesn't like it hes also welcome to go get a place of his own. Thats good parenting. In the real world there are no handouts and your landlord will most definitely not return your money if you're struggling.

My mother in law did this. We rented a house that she owned and then she gave us all the money we paid plus interest when we were looking to purchase a home. Will forever be grateful for her.
