@cruzenwithjonesy: On the way up to Glacier Basin via the Monte Cristo Trail, I spotted something you might walk right past if you didn’t know what to look for: three bearing trees! 🌲 In land surveying, bearing trees are used as reference points to help locate a survey monument or marker in the woods. Their recorded direction and distance from the monument can help surveyors find it, even when it’s hidden beneath the forest floor. A little land surveying knowledge coming along for the hike! You never know what you’ll discover out on the trail. Have you ever noticed bearing trees while hiking? #CreatorSearchInsights #LandSurveying #Surveying #GlacierBasin #PNW
