Roronoa Zoro, the self-proclaimed future World's Greatest Swordsman, is arguably the most overrated swordsman in anime history. Despite being worshipped by millions of fans, Zoro has spent over a thousand episodes demonstrating that having three swords, a serious expression, and absolutely no sense of direction is apparently enough to convince people you're a legendary warrior. Firstly, Zoro possesses the navigational intelligence of a household brick. This man could get lost walking down a straight corridor. Without his crew, he would never reach the Grand Line, let alone find Mihawk. His greatest enemy isn't a Yonko, an Admiral, or even another swordsman. It's a staircase with two exits. Secondly, Zoro's entire personality revolves around sleeping, drinking, and lifting weights. While Sanji cooks, Nami navigates, and Robin uncovers ancient history, Zoro contributes by taking another nap. His fans call this dedication to training, but realistically, he's an unemployed gym addict who happens to carry kitchen equipment. Furthermore, his supposed achievements are hilariously exaggerated. Zoro spent two years training under Mihawk, the very man he swore to defeat. Imagine dedicating your entire existence to surpassing someone, only to become their student and learn how to swing a sword properly. His greatest career achievement was essentially completing an unpaid internship. Even his fighting style is ridiculous. Three-Sword Style sounds intimidating until you remember this man holds a sword in his mouth. How does he speak? How does he breathe properly? More importantly, why has nobody told him that dentists exist? His entire combat philosophy is based on having more metal in his face than his opponent. And despite claiming he will become the greatest swordsman, Zoro still spends half his fights struggling against opponents who aren't even dedicated swordsmen. Every victory requires another dramatic speech about ambition, followed by him mysteriously discovering a new level of strength. Ultimately, Zoro is not some unstoppable warrior destined for greatness. He's a directionally challenged gym bro whose entire reputation depends on looking intimidating and having cool attack names.
