I really don’t know how many times I need to say this. Lincoln Riley doesn’t know anything about defenses. What do you expect? It’s a one dimensional team. Highly explosive offense with great talent. That’s not how you win championships. Ask any coach in the last 30 years how you win a championship. Then ask those same coaches if Lincoln Riley can win a championship based on his philosophy of having a high scoring offense and no defense it’s not going to work. It’s very plain and simple. His best results were what he had in Oklahoma. And even then they still came up short. There were plenty of defensive coordinators, thinking Riley could’ve hired when he was a head coach at Oklahoma but instead we got Mike Stoops and Alex Grinch. And now he’s at USC he hasn’t even one single conference championship not in the Pac 12 and not in the Big Ten. And say what you want about how close they were to winning a PA 12 championship when they had Caleb Williams. But again he lack defense. You’re not going to win championships like that. It’s a formula for disaster and it’s been playing out for the last five years at USC and for that it played out at Oklahoma. He’s gotta change his ways. Otherwise he’ll probably be at smaller colleges doing the same thing and probably with less talent.

I think USC can fire him if they wanted to. He’ll probably move on to NFL so USC will owe him a couple million a year which is doable. As disappointing as his USC tenure has been teams still want him.
