I literally did not watch that show again for a solid year after that episode. I was so angry. I just didn’t think I could watch it again. It’s equivalent to the Glenn murder in The Walking Dead.

By that point I was so tired of Rita that I almost cheered. She started to become less of a character and more of an obstacle for Dexter to overcome. Her character deserved better writing.
