Dos mujeres se enfrascaron en una pelea dentro de un gimnasio por querer usar un aparato. Aunque una de las involucradas ya estaba esperando su turno, llegó otra y la aventó, lo que comenzó este altercado.
Former Dock Workers Union (DWU) acting secretary Suliman Otieno Owuor has denied fraud and conspiracy charges over the alleged unauthorised withdrawal of Sh1 million from the union’s account. Owuor appeared before Mombasa Senior Resident Magistrate David Odhiambo, who released him on a bond of Sh700,000 with one surety of a similar amount. He is accused of conspiring with others who have not been presented before the court to commit a felony on August 15 this year, contrary to Section 393 of the Penal Code. In a separate count, Owuor is accused of fraudulently withdrawing Sh1 million from the union’s account held at Bandari DT Sacco in Mvita Constituency, Mombasa County, without the union’s authority. The alleged offence is said to have occurred on August 15, contrary to Section 268 of the Penal Code. The court allowed an application to consolidate Owuor’s case with that of two former union officials facing related charges over the alleged loss of funds from the union’s account. The two former officials, treasurer Kibibbi Shaib Omery and trustee NeJuma Hamadi Chirau, had earlier denied two counts of theft involving the union’s funds. Omery and Chirau appeared before Mombasa Principal Magistrate Erick Wambo and were released on bond after pleading not guilty. The consolidated case is scheduled for hearing on November 19.
