The Joint Typhoon Warning Center now reports maximum sustained winds of 90 mph with gusts to 115 mph, the equivalent of a Category 1 hurricane, and a central pressure of 979 mb. That is up from 70 mph just this morning. In-Fa is about 420 miles northwest of Kwajalein in the Marshall Islands, moving northwest at about 9 mph over open Pacific waters. JTWC's warnings have called for further strengthening in the days ahead. Meanwhile, JTWC has issued its final warning on Champi, which weakened after brushing Taiwan. Hurricane or typhoon? It's the same kind of storm. The name depends on the ocean where it forms. Where are you watching In-Fa from? Tell us in the comments.
