A licensed addiction counselor who admitted to supplying ketamine to late “Friends” actor Matthew Perry has been sentenced to two years in federal prison. #ErikFleming, 56, received the sentence Wednesday in Los Angeles federal court for his role in the chain of events that led to Perry’s fatal overdose in 2023. Before sentencing, Fleming told the judge he was “haunted” by his actions and called the situation a nightmare he cannot escape. Federal prosecutors said Fleming helped connect Perry to alleged ketamine dealer Jasveen Sangha — known by prosecutors as the “Ketamine Queen” — and personally delivered drugs to Perry’s home. Sangha was previously sentenced to 15 years in prison. Authorities said Fleming began cooperating with investigators shortly after they tracked him down months after Perry’s death. His cooperation helped prosecutors build the broader case, though the government argued he mainly acted to reduce his own punishment. Defense attorneys pushed for a lighter sentence, arguing Fleming had no prior criminal record, only dealt drugs for a short period, and had since focused on sobriety and recovery work. They also highlighted his efforts to help launch a sober living home while awaiting sentencing. According to prosecutors, Fleming sold ketamine to Perry through the actor’s assistant, Kenneth Iwamasa, including a delivery of 25 vials just days before Perry died.
