look at the tax rates in all of those countries they are at approaching or over 50% meaning $126,000 gets to keep 60 some odd thousand dollars after federal taxes probably closer to $50,000 after state taxes

I’m an American teaching in a Swiss school abroad. I make more than most principals in my home state of NC. According to ChatGPT, I’d have to make $132K USD in NC in order to have the same take home pay each month. But on top of all of that we have paid lunch and supervision duties, 35 hour work weeks, and 14 weeks of PTO. It’s amazing.

Yeah you’re missing something-New York City Department of Education teacher with 30 years and 30 credits above a Master’s Degree - $150, 236. Well that’s us blue cities with good unions! I’m 58 and retired 3 years ago at 55 - full medical, pension. Do your research

And in four out of five of those countries, the income tax rate is at nearly 50% to pay for all those universal programs that all of our lefty friends like to claim is “free“. So, literally half your income is taken right off the top. Which one you consider that doesn’t look nearly as attractive as the raw NUMBER being presented.
