It was because of the station. Im not defending the overselling i absolutely hate it just as much as the next person, however they have to slowly let people out because it because a danger at the station

It’s the venue that oversells it, they tell the event organisers the capacity and obviously they’re not going to sell fewer than they can.

‘there’s no way to get out’ you can go to the prince regent exit (left there at 5:15, no crowd) or through the carpark, or further down past the main stage. there’s multiple other exits but everyone rushes to the front and the staff HAVE to stagger the exit so the train platforms don’t get over crowded, which is much more dangerous

I think it seemed so much worse this year because the weather was awful so everyone was inside, whereas there’s usually a lot more meet-ups on the greens as well. I do agree they sell too many tickets though

It’s a recipe for a crowd crush. Security kept telling us to leave the halls and get into the crowd queueing and the people taking down a stage stuck up for us and said it wasn’t safe and they were fine with us waiting there. There’s gonna be an astroworld or love parade situation at some point. They need to have crowd control inside the venue at closing!

They prevent u from leaving to prevent overcrowding the nearby stations and causing major problems. The issue isnt exiting but the station’s capacity

The concert was not oversold. This year, the issue is that they tried to implement crowd control after someone got hurt last year. On top of the Excel crowd control, they also had the train station not letting anyone in.
