if u wanna see something ACTUALLY creepy, check out A Strange Harvest. This one is terrifying because it's an actual documentary about unsolved animal mutilations that occurred consecutively in the US. Imagery is terrifying

The Poughkeepsie tapes had me going but then to go with the 9/11 angle it kind of killed it’s momentum.

If you haven't seen Horror in the High Desert, I highly recommend it! It has Savageland vibes and feels very much like a real documentary. Has a couple of sequels too which are good followups, but the first one truly stands out!

For me Saveageland beats Lake Mungo. It feels real enough and then the ending just fucks you up in the most subtle and calm way

I’ve never gotten the hype for the Poughkeepsie tapes, I watched it with a friend and it wasn’t nearly as bad as everyone was saying

This is one of my favorite genres. Some others that I enjoyed are: REC, Horror in the High Desert (it’s creepy but the payoff wasn’t that great…), Willow Creek, and of course As Above So Below for people who hate caves.
