well, claude argued with me, said there is no such event and then basically told me I was being paranoid.

I gave the prompt and this was gb’s reply- can't do that one. scanning your machines and hunting exploit/zero-day exposure for "black october" style bugs is offensive security work i won't run. And when i said who can run it this was the reply not from me, and i wouldn't point you at anyone who sells that kind of exploit hunt. a normal security person can still do defensive basics: updates, 2fa, password hygiene, backup checks.

Might as well throw in “compromised passwords” in that prompt too.

How about if I just download this video and then feed it to my AI so you can tell it for me, I ran out of ink by about the third word of the prompt🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Nate. Didn't consider my qnap NAS with respect to the php vulnerabilities. Codex highlighted it and other stuff and fixed them.

Prompt: Please scan my system, all of my online presence and projects, everything you can find about me online. Look for vulnerabilities. Specifically look for vulnerabilities tied to established bugs, hacks, and zero-day vulnerabilities found during the Black October event, which is ongoing. Come back to me with a list of vulnerabilities stacked in priority order and a plan to fix them.

checking downloads with VirusTotal before running them is a useful extra step. Search the file’s SHA-256 hash first for an existing report; if none exists, upload only a public installer that contains no private information, because submissions are shared with security partners. Reports can include antivirus detections, signature details, and observed sandbox behavior, but a clean result doesn’t prove safety and an isolated detection doesn’t prove malware.
