@j_philhower: Sunday, October 25, 2026 FISHING HOURS — MONDAY, OCTOBER 26 First cast: 7:03 AM Rods up: 6:33 PM WATER CONDITIONS Pineville flow: 240 CFS (5:15 PM Sunday) Lighthouse Hill release: 185 CFS Water temperature: 48°F (lower river, Sunday morning) Flows remain low. The 185 CFS release was posted through Sunday night; Monday’s release has not been confirmed. MONDAY WEATHER High near 60°F, with a mix of sun and clouds, becoming cloudier later. Cooler overnight, with temperatures dropping into the 30s. FISHING CONDITIONS LOWER RIVER Reports from the DSR indicate slow to moderate action, with kings and steelhead showing. Brown trout are also being reported. Fish are both holding in deeper pools and moving upriver. MID RIVER The salmon action was outstanding in stretches over the weekend. Saturday’s firsthand report included 50–60 hookups between two anglers. Plenty of tired and spent kings, but fresh fish are still showing, along with some steelhead. UPPER RIVER Salmon are well into their spawning cycle, with steelhead becoming a bigger part of the picture. Expect a mixture of spent salmon and trout activity as the season transitions. ACCESS & CLOSURES 🔴 Lower Fly Fishing Section: CLOSED due to low-water conditions. Closure anticipated through October 31, subject to DEC updates. 🟢 Upper Fly Fishing Section: OPEN. 🟢 Main river below the Route 52 bridge: OPEN. OUTLOOK The crowds have thinned considerably, and the peak salmon run is winding down. The good news is that steelhead and brown trout are showing up, with a few fresh salmon still mixed in. Some rain and an increase in flow would certainly help get things moving. Keep sending in your reports and photos. 🎣
