Let him know how deeply he is loved and how much his life means. Father, please be with this wife as she sits beside her husband, holds his hand, listens to his breathing, and wonders what tomorrow will bring. Give her the words to say when words are hard to find. Help her love him through every moment, even when her heart is breaking. Let her know that she does not have to be strong every second. It is okay to cry. It is okay to be afraid. It is okay to ask You, “Why, Lord?” God, she is not only facing the possibility of losing her husband; she is facing the loss of the future she imagined with him.
