UGANDANS, LISTEN TO WHAT THE GOVERNOR OF BANK OF UGANDA JUST SAID — HE IS TELLING YOU THAT YOUR GOVERNMENT IS BROKE. UGANDANS, LISTEN TO WHAT THE GOVERNOR OF BANK OF UGANDA JUST SAID — HE IS TELLING YOU THAT YOUR GOVERNMENT IS BROKE. Dr. Michael Atingi-Ego has just stood before Parliament and said: Government wants to borrow Shs 12.7 TRILLION from INSIDE Uganda. From your banks. From your NSSF savings. He said the market can absorb that, but if they borrow more — interest rates will explode and private businesses will be killed. In economics they call it "crowding out." I will call it what it is: THEFT. Why is your government now borrowing from YOU? Not because it's clever economics. But for three shameful reasons: 📌IT'S BROKE. URA cannot collect enough taxes because the economy is dead. But State House still needs billions for handshakes, RDCs, army, and campaigns. Where will they get it? 📌IT'S IN A HURRY AND IT'S THE EASIEST MONEY TO STEAL. When you borrow from World Bank or IMF, they ask: Where is the accountability? Where is the audit? Where is the human rights record? But when you borrow from NSSF and Stanbic, Centenary, local Treasury Bills — no mzungu asks you questions. You get the money in two weeks. You can eat it quietly. This is the easiest money to steal without foreigners questioning you. 📌DONORS HAVE CUT THEM OFF. This is the part they don't want you to know. After the Anti-Homosexuality Law, World Bank froze our money. After killings, abductions, and human rights violations, EU cut aid. America removed AGOA. So who is left to fund this lavish, wasteful regime? YOU.🫵 They have now run to your NSSF — your retirement money. They have run to your local banks — the same banks you go to for a business loan. And here is the danger the Governor is warning about: Previously, when you went to a bank for a loan to build rentals, to buy a truck, to stock your shop, the bank would consider you. Now the bank says: "Why should I risk lending to a Ugandan businessman at 18% when the government, which never defaults, is offering me 16% risk-free?" So the bank lends all the money to government. The government is now COMPETING WITH YOU for your own money — and winning. That is why private sector credit was growing at 16.1% and now they want to kill it. That is why your loan application is rejected. That is why interest rates will go to 25%. Ugandans, understand this: They failed to manage the economy, they chased away donors with bad laws and bad governance, and now they are coming for the little savings you kept in the bank. Shs 12.7 trillion is not just a number. It is your future being mortgaged. And as the Governor said, even their debt documents are fake — the Charter's figures don't match reality. They are lying about how much we owe. A government that borrows from its own starving citizens to fund its own luxury is not a government — it is a parasite.
