I was in the cafeteria AT THE HOSPITAL less the 10 minutes after my uncle was pronounced brain dead and Another One Bites the Dust was playing out of THE HOSPITAL SPEAKERS. I was laughing and crying so hard no one knew what to do.

When my step dad passed we cut his obituary out of the local newspaper. On the back of it was an article about a scarecrow, that was mooning people with its pumpkin butt. He loved Halloween. My mother and I laughed hysterically

I refuse to play this and highway to hell when I was working at my funeral home, because as much as they made me giggle, it just felt wrong.
i've only made an exception one time. that was for a older heavily tattooed biker. I just knew he'd get a kick out of highway to hell as we are going to the crematorium. 🤣

Funny story, when the van from the funeral home was bringing my grandpa (urn) and the flowers over they forgot to unload HIM and they left town with him in the back seat. No one realized for a good 4 hours when grandma came downstairs and asked “has anyone seen grandpa?” And we were all like…grandma, grandpa is gone.

my late husband would have been cracking up, too! You gotta take the smiles where you can find them, especially in the early days when you feel like you're drowning.

I picked up a man that his family demanded we play the song *when the bodies hit the floor..and I was gobsmacked by the request...of course it made me chuckle...and his family adored it...and it lightened it...the families that laugh thru this...are truly something unique and special too.

When i arrived at my dads death bed, his favourite radio station was playing for him in his room. As i walk in ‘this will be the day that i die’ was playing aloud i couldnt help but laugh like alright Pa thanks i get that. He was unresponsive at that point but he was having a laugh with me i know it. He died 40mins later. death is full of trauma, but we gotta find humour in there too, especially if our person would’ve laughed too

I was a kid but I’ll never forget the music cutting over and over again at my godmoms funeral. She had absolutely hated that “If I Die Young” Band Perry song, but her mom attempted to play it at the funeral anyways. It also randomly stormed that day, she was big mad and it showed lol.

I do removals for bodies and I always ask family...unless its an ME scene what music they want played for them...some of them have 2-3 hr rides...so I must know how to pass the time..

I never really believed in signs from loved ones who have passed because I never really lost anyone i was close enough to until my dad.
he passed the weekend of his favorite holiday (4th of july.... he liked to battle our neighbor with bottle rockets).
the earliest day available for his funeral was July 11th (7-11). he loved to sneak out for a slurpee and taquitos. And the funeral home we went with was right next door to a 7-11.
