@dgm.america: Researchers at Microsoft and Salesforce ran 200,000+ conversations with 15 top models. When the request came in pieces over several messages, performance dropped 39% on average. Back in 2023, Microsoft capped Bing chat at 5 turns per session because "very long chat sessions can confuse the underlying chat model." The worse part: once a model takes a wrong turn, it doesn't recover. It keeps building on its own early guesses, so every correction is one more step the wrong way. When a chat goes sideways: 1. Stop correcting 2. Find the last good answer 3. Branch from there 4. Put everything it needs in one message In osFoundry's Branchspace, every message has a Branch button. It starts a new chat with only the path up to that message. The original stays, and the tree keeps every path, so you can try two directions and compare. osfoundry.io #AI #ChatGPT #promptengineering #LLM #productivity

סתיו יוסף אדם :
The part about it never recovering from a wrong turn is so true - I used to keep arguing with the same broken chat trying to fix it. Branching back to the last good answer instead of correcting forward makes way more sense.
