@shrink.think: Limerence isn’t listed in the DSM-5, but if you have BPD, you know how destructive it can be. 💥 In this video, I break down how a limerent obsession acts like lighter fluid on 4 core BPD diagnostic criteria: 1️⃣ Frantic efforts to avoid abandonment 2️⃣ Unstable relationships & splitting 3️⃣ Identity disturbance 4️⃣ Chronic feelings of emptiness Does this cycle sound familiar? can you explain how these massive rushes of hormone highs in bpd differ from mania? I dont quite get how it isnt manic when the criteria appears to overlap so much but I often see people say people with bpd DONT have manic episodes

I wish I could see you as my doctor 😂 well, atleast just grab a coffee... lol. I KNOW all about this, have for years, but didnt realize the depth of it when I did it for like 10 years in SU recovery. ive been single/ romance/ sex (limerence ) free for about 2 years now, but still have so much emptiness and struggles that I used limerick to treat

I was talking with a guy I really liked with bpd and I didn’t find out up until afterwards where he had an outburst simply because I held my standards and boundaries and it felt so out of character for him

I have AuDHD and would get this so much when dating .. the difference for me though is there was no devaluation- I just kept thinking I had to try harder for them to treat me right, until finally I find myself going insane and end it. And only one of them I hate, he did awful things though. So I guess that’s a difference in how limerance is experienced by autistics/adhd’rs and those with BPD? Maybe, I dunno just thinking out loud lol
