Friends to lovers, except when men catch feelings for their friends after getting to know them they’re seen as despicable beings. Men and women can be friends, but there’s also a possibility that down the line there’s a chance for feelings to develop. Women fall for their guy best friends and I haven’t seen much backlash from it. (If people can provide some examples, that would be greatly appreciated). But, most of what I’ve seen is just men being demonized for falling for their best friends. I understand, it changes the relationship dynamic and sometimes even ruins it, but it happens. But, while challenging, it is possible that the relationship grows stronger.

i don’t think it’s necessarily anybody’s fault. when you fall for someone, it usually happens naturally. you get to know them, see them for who they are and genuinely fall in love with the person they are. you don’t plan for it to happen and you can’t always control who your heart chooses. love is such a confusing feeling because you can’t always explain why you feel the way you do or why it’s that person. sometimes things don’t work out the way you hoped and that can be unfortunate, but i still think love itself is such a beautiful thing. i would never want to look at something so beautiful as something negative or automatically place blame on someone for simply falling in love. sometimes it’s just something that happens naturally and i think there’s something really beautiful about that.

I’m confused. Don’t like 90% of HEALTHY relationships start from people being friends first? Like if you don’t reciprocate the feelings then that’s a fair and a valid reason to end the friendship. Because it can get awkward. But the people in the comments getting mad at him for simply gaining feelings is actually insane to me. Like you can’t control your feelings towards people feelings grow and change. I fear I might not be as woke as I thought I was. I mean I’m also gay so this could factor into why this is confusing to me. Also romance movies do the same thing I’m beyond lost.
