I’m not saying you’re wrong because there were a lot of things that the court did wrong in the case. I was only dating my boyfriend when he was going through his custody dispute. I was only there because he forgot something that I needed to bring to him. I had to provide my financial details and they were included in the calculation. The only reason why they changed course was because we were able to prove that our financial matters weren’t intertwined.

Google is free. A joint tax return could be taken or if the responsible party stops working a judgement based on what they should be making might be ordered the step parent can pay it or not.

I was a single mom, made way less than the dad, and I had to pay child support AND he demanded I pay medical (they were covered by the state), I pay all extra curricular expenses and proceeded to put them in everything (judge said no), and as icing on the cake, I apparently overpaid by $1,100 and he said he wouldn’t pay it back. Told him I know he’s desperate because I know he spent every red cent on his new wife.

I begged them to take my husbands support form my checks so they always got paid as he was a stay at home dad with our autism kids and it made my life easier to do that. But because I’m not him they said no had no problem take my cash in office but. It from my check. Also files injured spouse cause the dead beat moms weren’t getting my income tax. I’ll buy what the kids need I’ll pay support but I wouldn’t pay back support cause not my problem and they weren’t hardly around and I was too poor for a lawyer
