this movie took SIXTEEN YEARS TO MAKE btw. its like watching a piece of history. it was a great movie....I took my kids on Sunday, and they loved it. my 4 yo, 9 yo and 20 yo all loved it.

Opening scene my hubs and I look at each other like “what did we bring our kids to watch” but it was a good story and my 7 yr old picked up some good values from it :) we loved it.

Stop motion always kinda freaked me out after Coraline- but I decided to give it another chance and I am glad I did. I really liked this movie. It was a really good fantasy adventure and OMG dont get me started on the amazing soundtrack!

The movie ends with a debate: the dad says life is all about acceptance (the Dowager Governess did not, hence her characters fall) but Prue counters that she didn't accept her circumstances, leading to her saving her brother. The takeaway to me seems to be that: wisdom is knowing when to let go and accept things, and when to stand your ground and fight.
