Indonesia's Firefighters Just Danced in the Rain?! WATCH TILL THE END! Firefighters in Indonesia just danced in the street, and this is why. Wildfires have burned about 1.9 million hectares across Indonesia since the start of the year. Month after month of flames, smoke and choking haze. These firefighters have been battling those blazes for months, in Borneo and Sumatra, in brutal heat. And then, this week, the sky finally opened. Rain poured down over South Kalimantan, and look at this. Exhausted firefighters rushed outside, cheering, raising their arms, dancing together in the middle of the road. One of them told reporters,
Indonesia's Firefighters Just Danced in the Rain?! One of them told reporters, "Praise be to God that there was finally rain." After everything they have been through, you can feel their relief. The smoke from these fires did not stop at Indonesia's borders. It drifted as far as Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines and East Timor. In Palangkaraya, more than 11,000 people were treated for breathing problems, and the air quality hit its worst reading ever. More than 60,000 firefighters have been deployed across the country, with dozens of planes and helicopters dropping water, and even seeding the clouds to make rain. Officials say some of this week's rain came from those very flights. Millions of people are now watching this moment around the world. But officials warn the dry weather could return, and the fight is not over yet. For one night, though, under the rain, these heroes got to celebrate. Tell us in the comments, what is the best news you have heard this week?
