i had my oldest right before Washington changed its stuff on dads signing the birth certificates.. was told we didn't need to sign the extra paper acknowledging paternity.. and then found out 2 years later(yeah i know i suck i didnt order her birth certificate for 2 years😬😬) that we did need to sign it and hes not on her birth certificate.. what a fucking mess that was to fix ☠️☠️☠️thankfully we didnt make that mistake on our other 2.

I’m in Texas and my kids father is not in the birth certificate and he’s on child support. We did do a dna test.

The judge just had me swear that he was the biological father so we didn’t have to do a dna test. He’s not on the birth certificate.

They dna tested baby daddy and proved it in their case but that didn't update the Birthcert he had to sue me in a different case to get on the cert

I get child support after coming a DNA test and my sons bio isn’t on his birth certificate. But I’ve always assumed it was because in GA a child born out of wedlock isn’t legitimized unless the father files it in court.

i live in Washington state as well. i had to get on tanf so naturally they wanted to put him on cs. they sent him a request for dna to establish paternity but he didnt responded. so they sent me something stating he didnt respond and they would go ahead with cs. hes also not on my sons bc. and they did.

My baby “daddy” claimed him on the birth certificate, got pissed I gave my son my last name and not his then called me from the highway saying he wasn’t ready to be a dad. We had already split so I knew that was coming. I was going to have the health insurance so I would rather my son carry my last name like I carried everything else.

my ex is on our daughter's birth certificate. when I filed for divorce, he didn't come to a single hearing - not one. I specifically requested no support for my own reasons. I had to go to court THREE SEPARATE TIMES to argue with THE COURT for no support order. they granted a temporary suspension that may or may not be rescinded. I'm gonna have to go back and do it again.

My husband's ex wife never put him on the birth certificate. Took him to court for chuld support, never took a DNA test *she was cheating! He said yes thats my daughter (he has only seen her a handful of times in 14 years) and got stripped of all parental right. Now they want him to put said daughter on his insurance, but without said birth certificate stating he is the bio father or the DNA test (he has said he will take it, baby-mama refuses) he can't show proof she is his (VA medical)

I’m in Australia and my ex refused to do a DNA test so he got put on child support anyway but he’s not on the birth certificate. It’s only $40 per month but that’s $40 he can’t inject into his arms to 🤷♀️

Here in Canada and Manitoba, the father does not need to be on the birth certificate to receive child support for anybody that is a Manitoba needs to know.

In Canada, you cannot put a father’s name on the birth certificate if they are not there to sign. I think this may have changed recently but I’m not sure. Also, we do custody, visitation and child support all in the same court appearance if we want.

from TX - random but my BD isnt on there and is on child support - he wasn't at the birth by the time I went to child support my son was almost 2. They offered him a DNA test he waived that right and named himself the father. they told him it was his responsibility to go get the birth certificate updated within 30 days ....he just never cared to 🤡 my son is 13. Im happy hes not on there! 😁
