If you’ve ever cooked mackerel at home, you know it never tastes like your favorite grilled fish spot 😅 I used to think it was just the fish, but it turns out it’s how you cook it. I asked the owner at my go-to spot what I was doing wrong, and he said heating the oil first is the mistake. That’s what makes it splatter, brings out that strong smell, and causes it to fall apart. There’s a simple step you do before cooking that fixes all of that. Crispy outside, juicy inside, and way closer to restaurant-quality 🤤 I tried it, and even my picky eater went back for seconds.
