There are certain times of year this law can be excluded. I worked for a family with a large estate that the estate owner would give away money to people in need that she cared about. She would have to wait for the holidays and officially label her endowments as gifts to the people she was giving them to. If it is given as a “gift” like this you can circumvent taxes for you and the other party as well as not get in trouble for dropping them a lump sum. There are absolutely ways to distribute wealth rapidly. You think the world’s first trillionaire is really about helping people? 😭

To this day the best bluff Elon ever called was when that charity group or whoever tried calling him out that he had the net worth to end world hunger, and instead of arguing the distinction between net worth and liquid assets, he just said “okay bet, publish the plan for how exactly I could do it but it needs to be transparent and itemized” and they immediately backed down because as it turned out it’s not just a “throw an arbitrary amount of money at the problem” deal

Someone should ask him if he’s waiting until he merges companies. The reason I’m thinking this is because he will have so much control over the super company and he’s alaready stated he only wants to have about 25% control. And my guess would be giving those shares away will bring his share total to right about that percentage. Am I crazy for thinking this?
