A retired NYPD detective accused in a deadly George Washington Bridge road-rage case is now facing a more serious charge. A Manhattan grand jury indicted Victor Romero, 62, on second-degree M*rder on Tuesday. Romero had previously been arraigned on first-degree manslaughter and released on $1 million bail. The case involves the October 20 D*eath of Koran Irvine, 46, a Con Edison mechanic and father of two. Prosecutors say the two drivers nearly collided while changing lanes as they approached the bridge. Authorities allege surveillance video then shows Romero following Irvine closely before pulling alongside his car. Prosecutors say Romero fired a Gn through Irvine’s rear passenger-side window, Shtting him in the back. Irvine’s vehicle later came to a stop, and he was taken to a hospital, where he D*ed.
