But I know there's a side of sports most people never see. I've spent the last few years working closely with some of the best athletes in the world. And if there's one thing I've learned, it's that the biggest battles they fight have nothing to do with their sport. We see the performances. The trophies. The celebrations. The money. The fame. The perks. The lifestyle. But that's a very small part of it. We don't see how lonely this journey can be. We don't see the constant pressure to perform. The fear of disappointing yourself. And others. The nights spent questioning everything. The sacrifices. The guilt of not doing enough. The endless comparisons that eat away at your soul. We don't see how ruthless an athlete can become towards himself when things aren't going well. How the mind turns against you, how it belittles you, doubts you, and even tries to convince you that you're not good enough. Not necessarily because you believe it, but because it soothes some of the pain. We don't see how hard it is to keep the love for yourself and for the game when your entire identity, livelihood, and sense of self have become attached to how well you perform. And what we see least is the enormous emotional burden athletes carry to appear strong, confident, and in control. I've seen athletes achieve things most people can only dream of and still struggle to feel good enough. I've seen athletes who appear completely composed in front of thousands of people, yet behind closed doors are fighting battles nobody knows about.I don't know this girl. I don't know why she's crying. I don't know exactly what she's going through. But I have an idea. If you read this far, I guess what I want you to take away from this is that mental strength isn't the absence of difficult thoughts or emotions. It isn't being unaffected by what you feel. It's the ability to let these thoughts and emotions be there and to keep shooting. Just like this girl did. Nothing but respect #antidoteperformance #antidotelife #antidoteretreat #Comeback #SecondChances #Success
