this is so exciting and sad. this country really did used to be the land of milk and honey, of opportunity, unlimited adventure and a young man could go out into the world to seek his fortune and make a name for himself in the world. I'm so envious of men of the era, and even earlier, of this video. If a man wanted a house and some land, he could go hit a boomtown for work, buy a small plot of land, build a house by hand with some neighbors, and start a family. Now, maybe the oil runs dry, or the dust bowl obliterated agricultural workers, and you were forced to pack up everything, and hit the road with your family, but there was opportunity elsewhere in a new land. How far we have come, and how far we have fallen. This country really was once the land of opportunity.
