@class.nomeleve: Pronunciation is not a trivial detail of language. It reflects phonetic awareness, linguistic precision, and respect for the words we use. English is full of words whose spellings conceal their sounds, and repetition can make an incorrect pronunciation seem correct simply because it is familiar. Learn the word. Understand its pronunciation. Speak with precision. #EnglishPronunciation #Linguistics #fyp #Phonetics #LearnEnglish
Miss, how can you, as a non-Jamaican (I assume), tell us Jamaicans how to pronounce Jamaica🤔.

Auntie Dee :
I'm British and I pronounce all of the words in the way that you pronounce the words. However what I will say in conjunction to this is that language, vowel placement, and regional understanding do play a part in how one says a word.
Many Americans pronounce data differently. They pronounce potato and tomato differently and that is because of their accent and their vowel placement. They are saying the word correctly; they're just using different vowels.
For example would you have the same level of criticism towards a non-native English speaker (for example, French) who has over-enunciated vowels or would you? Say the same thing in regards to the Japanese, who have difficulty pronouncing the letter R. There are different cultures of people that pronounce things differently and there is no right way or wrong way of saying a word when language and accent play a part.

Either (Eye) is British, we don’t say EYEther. American English is just Eether, make sure you’re correcting the correct region.
