@ph_gains: This exercise will have your whole core on fire🔥 In the horizontal position, your abs work intensely as stabilisers. They contract hard to prevent your spine from hyperextending (arching backwards) under the weight of your upper body and added weight. Here your obliques generate the rotational force to twist your torso from side to side against that massive gravity line and added resistance. As you perform the sit-up movement, your upper abs contract to curl your ribs toward your pelvis against the extended lever of your arms and plate. Your lower abs and deeper core muscles work under intense, continuous structural tension to stabilise your pelvis and keep your lower spine from unsafely arching or hyperextending under the weight of the plate.
