@foreverbarcelona01: Defeats against Paris and Real Madrid—Barcelona’s two toughest tests—will undoubtedly take a psychological toll on the Barça players. I was not impressed by Flick’s post-match comments, in which he noted that Real Madrid relied on counter-attacks and transitions—as if he had expected Real to dominate possession! My dear Flick, the Real Madrid side under Zidane—which won three consecutive Champions League titles—did not prioritize possession; their entire style was built on transitions. Flick bears some responsibility for his delayed substitutions, as well as his failure to convince the board to sign a defender and full-backs. Prioritizing an 80-million-euro move for Gordon while leaving three defensive positions unaddressed was a dangerous gamble. Neither Martín could handle Mbappé, nor could Cancelo contain Diomandé, or Balde stop Güler. You cannot expect to compete for—let alone win—the Champions League with a defensive line that, aside from Cubarsí, lacks the necessary quality. While the current setup might be manageable in La Liga, you will inevitably struggle—and lose—against top-tier opponents.
