Families hoping to get away for the start of half term have been met with delays at Birmingham Airport yesterday (Sunday 25 October). Winds of up to 80mph were predicted across the country, while certain communities were hit with an amber warning. The highest wind speed was measured on the island of Tiree in the Inner Hebrides of Scotland - locals experienced 82mph winds at about 4am this morning, the Met Office said.
