100% valid we see GCPD but no Jim Gordon, we don't see a single Wayne or Bat logo, we don't see a single hint of other rogues/gangs. There's not even the concept of metahumans mentioned which should be brought up in an investigation into a shapeshifting serial killer. The movie needed a lot more world-building to elevate both itself and the DCU as a whole.

Andrew critiques the Venom movies for being a Venom movie with no Spidey, as well as other Sony Spidey villain films, why is it all of a sudden okay for a Batman villain like Clayface to have a movie with no Batman just because it's slapped under Gunn's DCU 😭🤣?

The joker movies didn’t mention Batman either. They did mention Bruce Wayne but then that begs the bigger question and that is was that the actual joker?? Tbh I don’t think it is.

Even if they didn't want to mention anything Batman (which is unbearably stupid) They made Clayface be a Coast City resident and Lanterns was the last DCU project, I would've at least appreciated a small news article easter egg about how Coast City's main original hero fucking died

The problem is, the whole point of that Feat of Clay episode that this movie is inspired by. Batman showing up at the end just fully solidifies Hagen being gone, he’s just this monster that has to be stopped. Batman doesn’t even have to be a full character, but I think we needed more conflict on the story than just a generic mob boss.
