BALTATU AND CALIN LEVENSHULME MANCHESTER GROOMING GANG In 2019, four members of a Romanian grooming gang were jailed for a total of 25 years for the systematic sexual exploitation of vulnerable girls in care. The investigation revealed that the dangerous predator network systematically targeted vulnerable children in Manchester, executing a campaign of abuse that focused on victims as young as twelve. They operated an organised ring where initial contacts were made at Crowcroft Park before moving the children between various vehicles and a designated brothel house in Levenshulme. Owen attempted to exploit the unstable backgrounds of children housed in the care system, enforcing compliance and moving them across different properties. Public protection units halted their behaviour after an extensive operation exposed the ring, resulting in convictions across thirty-seven counts of sexual offences, including child rape. The Offender Database UK confirmed that the defendants were convicted at Manchester Crown Court: Multiple counts of rape of a child under 13 and child rape. Abduction of a child under 16. Inciting a child into sexual activity and arranging child sex offences. The four defendants are also subject to: Custodial sentences of 13 years, 8 years, 3 years, and 1 year, respectively.
