Update 10/28: Extension Granted, needs Placement by 11/1 at 11am CST ADOPT/RESCUE- NODAS MED - Needs placement by 10/30 at 11am CST Cora A1302422 (fka: Tara) 8 years old Unaltered Female 60.8 lbs Heartworm: PENDING Intake Type: STRAY found on MILITARY PKWY, DALLAS TX Adopets Link: https://adopt.adopets.com/pet/345dee58-a1b7-4841-a8f5-bf5429ea0b82 Bio Cora is an 8-year-old female dog who desperately needs our help. This sweet girl is suffering from chronic, severe otitis externa (inflammation and infection of the outer ear canals) along with a deep skin infection that will require long-term veterinary care, treatment, and ongoing management. These are serious medical concerns that cannot be resolved overnight and will require patience, consistency, and a commitment to helping Cora feel better. Cora needs someone willing to look beyond her medical challenges and see the dog who deserves comfort, compassion, and a chance at a better quality of life. Her conditions will require continued veterinary attention and a long-term care plan to manage her infections, address her discomfort, and monitor her progress. She needs someone who understands that healing can take time and that ongoing treatment and follow-up care are essential. At 8 years old, Cora deserves to spend her days feeling safe, comfortable, and loved. Instead, her medical needs have placed her in a vulnerable situation, and she urgently needs someone willing to step up for her. Senior dogs and dogs with ongoing medical conditions can sometimes be overlooked, but they deserve just as much love and opportunity as any other animal. Cora is at risk for euthanasia due to medical concerns that are beyond our scope of care. She needs a committed adopter, foster, or rescue organization that can help her receive the long-term treatment and management her conditions require. Please consider opening your heart and home to Cora, or sharing her story with someone who may be able to help. If you are interested in adopting, fostering, or rescuing Cora, please email dasadopt@dallas.gov. When emailing, please include a callback number. Medical Observation 10/26: day after FDT recheck.
