That said about conscripts, it's worth noting that Russia believes that they have annexed the disputed regions and that they are part of Russia, not Ukraine. So even by law, they can serve in Ukraine.

Conscripts were used and it was documented. There is also a practice of forcing people to sign contracts after mandatory service. Also conscription is all year round now

This is sort of a misunderstanding about how Russia trains its soldiers. Russia doesn't send new soldiers to boot camp. When you are drafted into the conscript Army essential you are drafted into a one-year boot camp serving as a soldier in Garrison somewhere in Russia. They show up to their units as a civilian and they go home after 1 year serving and training. That's not really an army that's a training phase. But after a year when they go home the day after they can be activated for their regular Army able to serve overseas. This makes their soldiers very wildly in their skill level. Some are trained by the best some arr trained by the worst. But it also means that Russia can train massive numbers of troops at the same time, far more than with traditional Western methods of raising an army.

Yeah I don't agree with this at all, and I want Russia out of Ukraine period including crimea. They're still people though, many in desperate times. Consider, would you really go to the front line for cash? I wouldnt. I'm guessing most here wouldn't.
