Girl u did not see my 🍑 like running has not helped in that department at all. I need to start lifting desperately!! It’ll also help me be a stronger runner. A healthy balance of both is key

Don’t get into running for the weight loss. You’ll lose some but it won’t be so major if you’re already active burning calories other ways. Plus ya gotta eat your fuel. Run for the love of running otherwise you’ll end up hating it one way or another

No this is so real. I feel just lifting weights has lost its appeal to me. I need something new to do but running sounds horrific

There are 5 health-related components of fitness. Muscular strength, muscular endurance, cardiorespiratory endurance, flexibility, and body composition. Solely focusing on one mode of exercise is not going to get you where you want to go. Balance is key!!!

I started just lifting and around January I started running you become addicted so quick I went from a 12 minute pace to an 8:30 pace in about 7 months! Highly recommend

Do a mix of everything! Plus it keeps things interesting. Pilates 1-2x, running 2-3x, stairmaster 1x, cycle 1x, lifting 3x, 10k steps a day

Why aren’t people swimming? That is one of thee best exercises and it is low impact on joints.

Make the switch!!!! I’m a huge believer that people should train where there heart wants them to go. Your relationship with fitness/fitness goals are SUPPOSED to change. If your heart isn’t with weightlifting anymore, it’s better to change your training style than to fall out of love with fitness by forcing yourself to stick only with weights

Picking up running may change your body, but not necessarily make you thinner! Just give it a try and have fun with it. It’s really fulfilling to achieve a fitness goal, not a certain body image 🩵

You will lose gains so you have to keep up the lifting and it also brings a lot of joint problems that can conflict with your lifting so just be smart

It’s important to still strength train. You don’t want osteoporosis and fragile bones when you’re older. I run 2-3x and lift 3x a week. You can do both.

The result pics were incredible but I have to remember you never know what else they changed. Maybe her diet changed ? More fiber more hydration? Maybe she was just drinking less alc also? Who knows

PPLRULR - push pull legs rest upper lower rest. Fits in 7 days and on the rest days I have 3 choices; active rest which is when I do heavy core and run typically 3.5 miles or less, only run which is when I long run up to 10 miles, or actual rest and I just go to the gym and walk. Either way, don’t stop lifting girl. You look cool as hell

Do a mix!! Strength is wildly important. But I say this as I’m training for my first marathon. I’ve lifted for a decade. Running has been such a fun add in and switch up to the routine!! Still lifting 2-3x weekly. Do it!!

Anyone that says running made them gain weight, ate in a calorie surplus. If you eat the same and run you will lose weight. I lost 30lb after picking up running and training for my marathon this year while maintaining my same diet (adding carbs for fuel etc) my legs leaned out and look so strong although i did lose my 🍑

I looked and felt awful during my 2-3 years of solely distance running. I also destroyed my knees beyond repair. About 7 months ago I got back into lifting and just mildly running each day (1-3 miles), best I’ve ever looked and felt.
