my sister put reversed all my locks, and put dummy handles on opposite side. We did on my pantry, garage, office, and pass thru door. So the side the autistic child was on would just be a dummy handle.

my daughter will cut and eat an entire cantaloupe in the time it takes to go to the bathroom... I'd hide the knives but at this point she's never cut herself so I'll let her be. she's got lower support needs but also can open a door with a credit card or butter knife. we get thrown so many curve balls

My mom was like that. I had to constantly clear out junk when she’d be out doing god knows what. I can’t stand clutter now. I like having as little as possible.

autism is such a rollercoaster even for us that are on it- I was masking my whole life- not very well, come to find out, but I was low support needs, I had a job, friends, I went out, I was "functioning". Then perimenopause happened 😭 and that all changed QUICK

How young did cam present signs of OCD because multiple people have talked to my six-year-old about her possibly being obsessive and compulsive. And I’m the type of person that learns from others so I don’t want to be locked down in my house when she gets older so I would like to try to help if I can.

have they tried medicine for him? it’s not like he can do exposure therapy (he’s already getting that technically from you but he wouldn’t understand it the same). what options did they give you?

I know you have to always stay two or three steps ahead of your kids. It’s like trying to figure out a never ending puzzle. These kids are very intelligent. They watch everything you do. Much love 🥰
