@fox12oregon: Crews spent Sunday battling a large fire at a freezer building in the Pacific Seafood plant on the Newport Bayfront, reported just before 9 a.m. About 30-40 workers evacuated safely, and one firefighter was treated for exhaustion. Level 3 and Level 2 evacuations were ordered over potential ammonia contamination, later reduced to a couple blocks for smoke after crews mitigated the tank leak risk. Bay Boulevard remains closed between Hatfield Drive and Port Dock One, and Pacific Seafood says it expects a major loss.
We love you, Newport. Our hearts are with Pacific Seafood. 🌲🍤🦞

Australian news reported it first and they reported an ammonia tank explosion. The wind is carrying it north up the coast. Ammonia can have long term health effects.
