In 2014 she stepped away from her career to study musical theater composition in the United States, and has recently returned with her new album Shadow Work, a very personal body of work born from five years of therapy and self-discovery. Oh my, I basically loved all of Angela Aki's old discography especially her Home album. Is this why she was gone for a long time? I hope she heals and finds her spark again 🩷🩷🩷

I like to gummi as a foreigner. Because it was saying so true tonight. Experience growing up in my home country as the only black person in an all white school. But how did i'm hearing angela side of it while i'm doing my own therapy work as an artist Who's going through something somewhere it's really touching to hear her side of things. True blessings
